General MRU Feedback

We welcome any feedback on how we can improve Marginal Revolution University. You can also email us at support AT mruniversity.com.

  1. In your introductory lecture to Great Economists, you say that you will offer a course on Marxian economics. Is that still your plan?

I believe that a course on Marxian economics would be a natural addition to the Great Economists course. It would allow us to understand how the Theory of Value evolved from Smith and Ricardo to Marx.

It would also be interesting to see how Marxism and the Marginal Utility theorists view the world differently.

And finally, we could look at later theorists like Joseph Schumpeter and David Harvey.

Thanks for the feedback, Karim! This is a feature that we have planned.

    Cheers,

  3. PPT

Is there any PPT files made from your's videos (in fact, that are use in videos)? If not, maybe it's not a bad idea to make it. The PPT files shoud be editable, of course, for better use in any language.

  4. Add a course on public choice economics

Please add a course on public choice economics. There's an excellent list of MRU courses for learning to think like an economist. But strongly believe another function of these courses could/should be to make us better, more knowledgeable citizens regarding public policy issues. And that means we need a course in public choice economics — "politics without the romance" — i.e., what economic analysis can tell us about the political decision-making process. That way we'll be better able to determine whether free-market or government-driven solutions would likely work better for addressing particular issues. And we'll each have a better "BS…

  7. Indicate lenght of the chapters/videos

I have started the Development Economics course. The same way it is very useful to know that it is a 25.5 video hours course, it would be very useful and simple to implement knowing how long are every chapter or even every video. It would allow users to better plan their study plan.

    Congrats for the site!

  8. MRUniversity should create an app.

MRUniversity should create an app similar to Udemy so people can easily do economics on their phones and tablets. I would strongly prefer if there was an MRUnisveristy app that just linked the videos so I can watch it on my phone without the need of an internet browser.

  9. Contemporary economists

Maybe some videos about the most influential contemporary economists and their ideas, would be an interesting addition. And the main schools of thoughts of our times and how are they, in practice, influence the governance and the markets. Best Regards, Alexandra Popa

  10. Awesome Site!!!

Without a doubt THE best way to learn about economics! All of the videos are very interesting, easy to understand and very slick with high production values.

Most importantly, it gives the student of economics a very solid intuitive grasp of the subject.

Many thanks for making this open and freely available to the public.

  11. I wouls

I would add more questions and real world exercises after each video, so that we can better understand theory in action.

  12. International Finance Certificate??

I hear there are no exams yet for International Finance and one will not get any certificates unless you pass the exam. So what must I do to get a certificate for this course?

  13. An accompanying reading list?

    An accompanying reading list, including:

    • Recommendations for an accompanying text

    • Additional reading for improving and building on one's understanding

    • Recommendations for 'next steps'

  15. I need help on how to write a proper college paper/academic paper/thesis

I mean, thesis in the college level, not PhD level. Or how do you call it? I am not a native English speaker.

  17. Need some female faces!

I am looking through MRU's videos and I am excited to include some in my courses here at St. Catherine University. Perhaps because I teach at a women's college, I am struck by the lack of female economists in the videos. For that matter, there is a lack of diversity on many dimensions. So many good economists out there! Can you tap some who will show my students that their faces are reflected in our field? Thanks!!

  19. Is it possible to track your progress?

For example, to (automatically) mark the videos you've watched (like Khan Academy does).

  20. Like Khan Academy, you should add in a points system to identify top viewers/users

Add gamification to this website! Really, it's like the icing on the cake. Give points for completing a video and/or answering practice questions correctly. I'm not sure how you would code this ... but think about it!

See Khan Academy for an example of this.
