  2. Are Neighborhood Associations an advance in local representation?

There are an ever growing proliferation of Neighborhood Associations throughout the country but the ones in Multnomah County Oregon have been in operation for over 40 years. They claim this is the new advance in political representation at the local level but the overall effect has been more control by fewer people who are even more parochial than the bureaucrats in Town Hall.

  5. With specialization there is profit. So wouldn't it be beneficial to offer free collage?

The more videos you watch the more they say specialization is key. So to specialize you need education. Would it not greatly benefit us all if we could have more people with special knowledge?

  9. The problem of brain drain. Is it actually a problem or is it beneficial ?

Most often, we hear that brain drain is causing some serious damage to the accumulation of human capital for the developing economies. Every accomplished person leaves his homeland to get higher returns from abroad leaving vaccum for a learned and precious human resource.

  11. Explain the “Flatten the Curve” chart and The Economic Implications of the Corona Virus.

There are two thought cases here. How does flattening the curve through social distancing help stop the spread of the corona virus and what are the repercussions - economically- of flattening the curve.

  12. Homelessness

It wasn't enough that shopping centers were empty. Now hotels and even apartments are empty. Those who are homeless often sleep by freeways, and there seems to be some social service work, but still, for example in Los Angeles, there are thousands of homeless people. What are the barriers? Are there good examples of situations where the homeless are in some type of group/individual housing? What is the invisible catalyst? Because the homeless sometimes do have transfer payments that would make it possible to pay rent, and some could work if they had hope and knew what kind of work…

  13. Short video on inequality

I'm an instructor at a college. I'm teaching a module on GDP, basic accounting, and then moving to the issues on GDP and standard of living, your videos were very helpful for that. But I wanted to include the discussion of GDP and inequality (mainly inside a country) and I couldn't find anything brief... do you have something like that? If not, could you do it?
    Many thanks!

  14. The Economics of Ideas - Open-source innovation

How does open-source innovation economics work and how would you extrapolate the trend if society transitions to a robot/AI automated knowledge based economy?

In the software world, we hear concepts like "paying it forward", which sound like like prizes and subsidies but, we also hear about giving back financially or through knowledge contribution on GitHub or Wikipedia.

When the inventor shares freely and is sometimes able to gain back from others' work on top of their own work. Maybe it's like a pyramid scheme of ideas, but ideas don't seem to run out like regular pyramids.

  15. Summary of Economic Systems & Theories

An outline of the summaries of the systems of economics (capitalism, socialism, communism, mixed economies), along with their most common subsets (free market, social market, etc), the main questions they are trying to answer (means of production, profit and wealth capture, gov't role) would be critically important at this time. It seems to me that terms like socialism and capitalism are thrown around without meaning in the news. A chart of which countries are currently operating under which schema, and which politicians are advocating which types would be bonus. (Does Sanders really want Socialism or does he mean social market…

  19. economics of data

The market for data is like that for corruption, opaque. Many buyers and sellers have little idea of price, demand, supply etc... How can it be regulated to maintain trust and protect data sources (you and I).

  20. Working Capital

Working capital is a term that gets used a lot but seems very inconsistently applied. What's the idea behind it? What should be counted towards it? Inventory or all current assets? What're the consequences of high working capital? Of negative working capital? How might this influence an investment decision? How can I find these numbers for companies I'm interest in?
