Free Way to Upgrade PST File from ANSI to Unicode Format
I have been using an old Outlook PST file, which I recently found out is in ANSI format. The file is approaching the 2GB limit, and I am worried it might get corrupted. I want to upgrade it to the Unicode format so I can continue using it safely with Outlook 2016.
Is there a free and manual way to convert an ANSI PST file to Unicode format without using any third-party tools? If yes, please guide me through the steps. I am using Outlook 2016 on Windows 10.

If your old Outlook PST file is in ANSI format and you want to upgrade it to Unicode format, the Softaken Upgrade PST Tool is a great solution. I have used it myself, and its interface is quite easy and user-friendly.
Some key features:
Conversion from ANSI to Unicode in just a few clicks
Compatible with any Outlook version
Complete process without data loss
Can upgrade files in batch mode as wellI used it on Windows 11 and did not face any issues. If you want to avoid Outlook file limitations and corruption, then definitely try it once.
