Child support
I just recently filed for divorce and am doing it myself (without a lawyer). I have paid an online company https://onlinedivorcecalifornia.com/grounds-for-divorce-in-california/ to prepare the documents and I am just in charge of filing them. One of the documents they sent was a withholding form for child support. My husband and I are planning to split custody 50/50, so I feel it's unfair for him to pay child support. We have already agreed to divide the cost of things for our children into things like sports, school supplies, clothing, etc. That is also a lot of money, $1,500 a month, they calculated. I make more money than him, and even though we didn't succeed, I still love him. He is also a great father so I don't think he will ever leave his kids or refuse to provide for them. However, do I have to file this form, or can I explain this to the judge so they don't withhold income?
