  2. Short video on inequality

I'm an instructor at a college. I'm teaching a module on GDP, basic accounting, and then moving to the issues on GDP and standard of living, your videos were very helpful for that. But I wanted to include the discussion of GDP and inequality (mainly inside a country) and I couldn't find anything brief... do you have something like that? If not, could you do it?
    Many thanks!

  3. Build a Discussion Area at the bottom of each video.

It would really help to have a section where we can ask questions about what we do not understand and share our suggestions and views at the end of each video.

  4. Homelessness

It wasn't enough that shopping centers were empty. Now hotels and even apartments are empty. Those who are homeless often sleep by freeways, and there seems to be some social service work, but still, for example in Los Angeles, there are thousands of homeless people. What are the barriers? Are there good examples of situations where the homeless are in some type of group/individual housing? What is the invisible catalyst? Because the homeless sometimes do have transfer payments that would make it possible to pay rent, and some could work if they had hope and knew what kind of work…

Great question! I’d start with this section in Principles of Macro:

    https://mru.org/courses/principles-economics-macroeconomics/gdp-per-capita-purchasing-power-parity-example

Then if you want to go deeper, I’d suggest diving into development economics. We have a our course here:
    https://mru.org/courses/development-economics

There are also a lot of good books on the subject. You’ll see some of the featured at the beginning of the puzzle of growth video in Macro.

  6. Explain the “Flatten the Curve” chart and The Economic Implications of the Corona Virus.

There are two thought cases here. How does flattening the curve through social distancing help stop the spread of the corona virus and what are the repercussions - economically- of flattening the curve.

  8. The problem of brain drain. Is it actually a problem or is it beneficial ?

Most often, we hear that brain drain is causing some serious damage to the accumulation of human capital for the developing economies. Every accomplished person leaves his homeland to get higher returns from abroad leaving vaccum for a learned and precious human resource.

There are a lot of arguments for and against (mainly against) protectionism, but on what scale is protectionism good or bad for different economies?

  20. Would we be better off with more "Open" immigration?

Should the United states as a rule push for more closed borders where people cant come in to find work? Or, are we better off with an open system where by people can enter the country and find a job.
