Please make sure that the information in the practice questions is correct
Please make sure that the information in the practice questions is correct. I just tried to answer one of the practice questions on GDP and it marked my correct answer wrong. I double checked my answer in the book and I was correct and the website was wrong. This problem could cause people to learn false information. :/
3 votesThank you for submitting your concern about the GDP practice question. We take making sure that all of our questions are correct very seriously. We have reviewed all the questions on GDP and can verify that they are all correct. If you can let me know which is the question you think is wrong, we can try address it specifically.
There is one question, the second question in the “Splitting GDP” video, that is a bit of trick question. Maybe this is the one you are referring to. It may seem that the answer should be (e), but it is actually (d). The reason is that not all of government spending is counted in GDP; only government purchases are. For example, social security payouts are government expenses but not purchases, and these are not counted toward GDP. The video explains why this is so: GDP count goods…

Can you make a program for volunteers to translate your videos?
Translation into different languages will be nice.
1 voteWe have a way to do this already! If you go to mruniversity.com and look at any video page, you should see a “translate” button under the video.
Clicking on it will take you to a tool that allows you to add subtitles. We greatly appreciate any additions we get!
For example, here’s the link for the first video in our Micro course. http://www.amara.org/en/videos/AfeywxXg5Wel/info/introduction-to-economics/

Do you take part in Hi-Tech exhibitions to promote your site?
Can such a branding be suitable for that: https://www.behance.net/gallery/32744163/Logo-and-branding-for-MR-University ?

MRUniversity should create an app.
MRUniversity should create an app similar to Udemy so people can easily do economics on their phones and tablets. I would strongly prefer if there was an MRUnisveristy app that just linked the videos so I can watch it on my phone without the need of an internet browser.
18 votesThank you Thomas – great idea. We frankly aren’t doing a great job on mobile right now but we’ll get there!

Awesome Site!!!
Without a doubt THE best way to learn about economics! All of the videos are very interesting, easy to understand and very slick with high production values.
Most importantly, it gives the student of economics a very solid intuitive grasp of the subject.
Many thanks for making this open and freely available to the public.

MAKE Exam AVAILABLE FOR A COURSE FROM 2014!!!!
It would be VERY nice and professional of y'all to have the exam and/or certificate of completion actually available AFTER SITTING THROUGH 55 VIDEOS!!! This course was created in 2014! It is almost 2016!
1 voteHi Bill,
Thanks for the comment – getting the International Finance exam up is on our list. We’re a bit behind I know. We are a very small team.I’m always curious to learn more about what folks are doing with our materials – would you mind sharing with me what you do with our certificate?
I’ll post a note here when the exam is up. Should be within the next few months.
Thanks.

Release New Material on a Schedule
You asked for feedback about the Principles of Economics: Microeconomics class.
I know it's too late in the class for this to change, but in future classes it would be nice if there was some predetermined schedule for the release of new material. Long periods of time went by in the class with no new material and no idea when it would be released.
A release schedule when the class starts would be very helpful.
Thanks for the great material. So many of these topics and the way they apply to real-life situations are more complex than they appear on…
2 votesThank you for the feedback and compliments!
We are going to release our Macro on a 1 video per week schedule starting in January 2016.

We don’t have a course specifically designed for that age but I think you could find useful content in both Everyday Economics and Principles. I have a 7 year old and he enjoys them!
Here are some ideas. Drop us a note at support@mruniversity.com if you have a specific topic in mind. If we don’t have it we might be able to suggest some other places.

Love this course! When will section on insurance and moral hazard be complete?
Expand discussion of why health care is burdened with market failures (adverse selection, information asymmetry, moral hazard) and whether introducing high deductible insurance plans will encourage price transparency, thus bringing health costs back to earth.

Improving long term learning and comprehension of material
The videos and questions are engaging, but without frequent and spaced reinforcement of the concepts and terminology, the ideas will not embed in learners long term memory. students take a multiple choice question and pass but do they really understand the concepts. This is the biggest failure of MOOCs. I recommend including on the website some space repetitive questioning of the material to help push the ideas from short term memory to long term memory. There is a lot to earn from language learning and flashcard websites and apps like Anki, Duolingo and Memrise. You can even develop on Memrise…
1 voteThank you Bryon! No surprise that such a smart comment comes from a fellow Hokie!
I agree that there is much to be done to provide practice materials to reinforce concepts. That’s definitely on our radar to improve.
I’ll check out those apps you mentioned. I appreciate the feedback – feel free to email me directly at roman at mruniversity dot com.

Better spam control and author authentication needed
Comments and discussions under the videos could be very useful only if they are kept free from spam. Spammers often post links and ads. One way could be to designate some long time or serious users as moderators.
PS: In case you start such a program, I would love to help with moderation of content
3 votesThank you for the feedback. We are continually battling spammers on both this feedback site and on mruniversity.com. We haven’t gone the way of community-based moderation yet, but if we do so, we’ll let you know! Thanks for the offer.
